Challenge
A global leader was experiencing major efficiency concerns with one of their existing filter presses. Their existing semi-automatic, pneumatic plate shifter was unreliable and would shut down at nearly every cycle, requiring extensive manpower involvement. The plate shifter would have to be moved manually with two operators, one on each side of the press. Not only did this cause issues with valuable operator time but, more significantly, it caused major safety concerns, workplace injuries, and WSIB claims.
The client had an existing Micronics press onsite and was very impressed with our automatic shifter, which never failed. They wanted a filter press retrofit solution that would address their considerable challenges.

Micronics proposed, installed, tested, and commissioned a complete retrofit of the original semi-automatic, pneumatic plate shifter on the client’s troubled filter press with a rugged, Micronics side-rail plate shifter design and controls.
